I love a great trash-to-treasure project. Some of our coolest DIYs have been items that were so close to making their way to the curb.
The downside is every time we create an upcycled project, it gives my husband more reason to never throw anything away.
My friend Toni over at Girl, Just DIY created an awesome wooden Christmas tree, as part of our Deck the Home Blog Hop. The blog hop is collaboration of 27 DIY and home bloggers that have put together 5 full weeks of amazing Christmas DIYs for your home.
Back to Toni and her upcycled Christmas tree decoration – she created it from scraps of wood that her husband threw away, which makes me love it even more. Toni gives an easy-to-follow tutorial on how you can get the same result with scrap wood and a miter saw.
It’s a really festive porch decoration, and you can’t beat the price of ZERO dollars.
Seriously, store-bought Christmas décor can break the bank. I’ve been hemming and hawing over buying a set of reindeer, but I think I’ll follow in Toni’s footsteps and go dumpster diving instead.
Not only is it fun to create your own home décor, but it’s an amazing feeling to see what you’ve created. And, saving money is always the best.
Keep checking back for more amazing Christmas DIYs during our Deck the Home Blog Hop because we are just getting started.
I’ll be posting three times every week until December 7th with inspiring holiday projects – from DIY Christmas décor to outdoor projects to DIY gifts that you can make and give this holiday season.
Also, come back on Friday for a special post – 15 Incredible Outdoor Holiday Projects.
